UNDP Somalia is seeking a high-level International Consultant for the EQUANOMICS initiative, focusing on Fiscal Policy for Gender Equality. This assignment is part of a global flagship program designed to ensure that fiscal policies, including taxation and public expenditure, are leveraged as powerful tools to reduce gender inequalities and promote women’s economic empowerment in Somalia.
The consultant will work to integrate gender perspectives into macroeconomic frameworks and fiscal policy dialogues. This involves analyzing how current fiscal structures impact different genders and providing technical expertise to reform these systems to be more inclusive. The goal is to foster a "Gender-Equal Economy" by aligning Somalia's fiscal strategies with sustainable development goals and international best practices for gender-responsive budgeting and policy making.
Scope of Work:
Conduct gender-sensitive analysis of fiscal policies and macroeconomic trends in Somalia.
Provide technical advice on integrating gender equality into national budgets and tax systems.
Facilitate high-level policy dialogues with government stakeholders and international partners.
Produce comprehensive reports and policy briefs under the EQUANOMICS framework.
The assignment is scheduled for a duration of 6 months (spanning March to August 2026), with a total of 40 billable working days.
