Save the Children is looking for a dedicated Nutrition Assistant to lead the technical implementation of the Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) and Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) in Dolo Bay. The successful candidate will provide medical supervision and clinical care for patients with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and moderate acute malnutrition (MAM). Key responsibilities include coordinating weekly movement plans to outreach sites, monitoring program quality, providing on-the-job training to government health workers and nurses, and managing the supply chain for essential therapeutic products and drugs.
The role involves high-level accountability in reporting, requiring the daily and weekly collation of screening data to be shared with the Senior CMAM Officer. You will also be responsible for ensuring that job aids and reporting formats are available at health posts, mentoring Health Extension Workers (HEWs) on referral decisions for severe cases, and supervising the pre-mixing of supplementary foods. The position requires a professional who can operate effectively in hardship environments, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and a commitment to child safeguarding.
