A refugee support organization based in Cairo is seeking an experienced Director of Development Department to lead fundraising, donor engagement, policy advocacy, and strategic development initiatives. The role is responsible for strengthening organizational sustainability, managing partnerships, overseeing communications, and supporting long-term programme growth.

The organization provides support services to refugees and vulnerable migrants through programmes focused on education, psychosocial support, legal aid, youth services, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fundraising and resource mobilization activities.
  • Identify and pursue new donor and partnership opportunities.
  • Oversee grant proposal development, donor reporting, and fundraising strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Supervise communications, policy, advocacy, and fundraising teams.
  • Support organizational strategic planning and programme sustainability.
  • Coordinate with finance teams on budgeting and funding requirements.
  • Contribute to annual reports, newsletters, and communication materials.
  • Support advocacy initiatives related to refugee rights and protection.
  • Participate in executive leadership and organizational management activities.

Qualifications

  • University degree in:
    • Development Studies
    • Non-Profit Management
    • Law
    • International Development
    • Or related field

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of senior management experience within an NGO or humanitarian organization.
  • Proven experience managing large fundraising proposals and donor relations.
  • Strong proposal writing, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian and refugee protection sectors.
  • Strong budgeting, financial planning, and organizational leadership skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in complex humanitarian or protection environments is desirable.
