Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operating in Somalia since 1998, applying a human rights–based approach to humanitarian response. Somalia is facing a severe humanitarian crisis with a large percentage of the population requiring assistance.
DRC is expanding emergency response operations through an integrated approach to reach hard-to-access populations.
DRC is recruiting qualified Casual Enumerators (Roster) to support assessments and data collection activities in Galkacyo (North & South).
The primary objective of this roster is to recruit experienced local enumerators who will support field assessments, surveys, beneficiary verification, and data collection activities.
Enumerators will conduct both quantitative and qualitative data collection for:
Rapid Needs Assessments
Beneficiary Verifications
Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM)
Knowledge, Attitude & Practice (KAP) Surveys
Baseline Surveys
Mid-Term Reviews
Final Evaluations
Participate in training to understand survey tools before field deployment
Collect data using approved questionnaires and assessment tools
Capture data using mobile data collection platforms (ODK, KOBO)
Ensure accuracy and completeness of collected data
Report to assigned DRC supervisors
Work professionally and collaboratively with team members
Record and submit data from routine field activities
Support beneficiary registration and data entry
Assist in distribution activities (e.g., hygiene kits) when required
Mobilize community participation in project activities
Ensure protection, gender, and environmental considerations are respected during data collection
Perform additional field tasks as assigned by program and MEAL teams
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 Year of experience working with international NGOs in data management
Minimum 1 Year of field experience in a similar role
Fluency in English (Required)
Knowledge of Arabic or Ethiopian languages (Amharic, Oromo) is an advantage
Practical experience using mobile data collection tools (ODK, KOBO)
Strong understanding of the local context and cultural sensitivity
Ability to work in challenging and high-pressure environments
Strong communication skills (oral & written)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Basic understanding of humanitarian principles and ethical data collection
Adaptability to changing field conditions
