Established in 1951, IOM is the leading UN agency in the field of migration, working closely with governmental and non-governmental partners to promote humane and orderly migration. IOM is currently seeking a highly qualified Supply Chain Officer (P-3) to join the Mission in Somalia. Under the direct supervision of the Head of Resources Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the supply chain activities of a multi-million-dollar African Development Bank (AfDB) project in Kismayo.
Key Responsibilities & Role Scope:
Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning for all country office supply chain activities, collaborating with internal stakeholders and HQ to align with global standards.
Operational Oversight: Supervise procurement, warehouse management, fleet, assets, and facilities maintenance across the Mission's sub-offices.
Risk & Compliance: Monitor vendor contracts and implement robust internal control mechanisms to safeguard organizational assets and prevent fraud.
Technical Leadership: Guide program teams in the issuance of "Call for Proposals" and ensure all bidding processes remain fair, transparent, and compliant with IOM/UN regulations.
Capacity Building: Supervise and train SCM staff, fostering professional development and knowledge transfer within the unit.
Inter-Agency Representation: Represent IOM at UN inter-agency meetings and forums related to logistics and supply chain management to achieve common humanitarian goals
