IDEAS Company is seeking a qualified and experienced General Accountant (Xisaabiyaha Guud) to join its finance department. The position plays a critical role in ensuring proper financial management, transparency, and accountability in the organization’s daily financial operations.
The General Accountant will be responsible for supervising and verifying all financial transactions conducted within the company and across its branches. The role requires maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing accounting procedures, and ensuring that all financial activities comply with company policies and established financial controls.
One of the core responsibilities of the role is monitoring daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and payments, to ensure that all records are accurate and properly documented. The accountant will also be responsible for closing cash accounts for all company branches and ensuring that all branch financial records are properly reconciled.
The role involves registering newly purchased products in the accounting system (Odoo Accounting System) in a timely and accurate manner. This ensures that inventory and financial records remain consistent and up to date within the organization’s accounting system.
The General Accountant will also be responsible for monitoring accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) to ensure that outstanding debts owed to the company are followed up promptly while also managing payments owed by the company. Careful monitoring of financial obligations is necessary to maintain the company’s financial stability.
In addition, the accountant will review and supervise daily payments, including both petty cash and larger financial transactions. This includes verifying that every payment has the correct supporting documentation and that it complies with the organization’s financial procedures and approval processes.
Another important aspect of the role is monitoring product returns and ensuring that the necessary financial adjustments are recorded correctly within the accounting system. The accountant will also oversee daily purchases to verify that prices, quantities, and approvals are accurate and properly documented.
The successful candidate will also assist in preparing weekly and monthly financial reports covering all company branches, providing management with reliable financial information to support strategic decision-making.
This role requires a highly organized individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high ethical standards in financial reporting and financial control systems.
