Role Overview
The Head of Laboratory will lead the diagnostic laboratory team to ensure fast, accurate, and highly reliable test results.
You will manage laboratory infrastructure, drive quality control protocols, and introduce modern diagnostic methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management: Direct daily activities in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology. Quality Management: Maintain strict internal Quality Control (QC) and External Quality Assessment (EQA) standards.
Management
Equipment Care: Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and validation of sophisticated laboratory equipment.
Safety & Biosafety: Enforce rigorous laboratory bio-risk and waste management protocols. Qualifications & Experience

Language Capabilities: Proficiency in English, Somali and Amharic is highly valued for day-to-day operations and community engagement.

Skills and qualifications
Education: BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT); MSc in Laboratory Sciences, Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
Hospitals & Treatment Centers
Experience: At least 5 years of active laboratory experience, with a proven track record of 3+ years in a senior lab management or supervisory role.
Licensure: Fully licensed Medical Laboratory Technologist by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. Skills: Expertise in laboratory information systems (LIS), equipment troubleshooting, international laboratory standards (e.g., ISO 15189), and detail-oriented analytical skills.
