The UNOPS Somalia Country Office (SOCO) is seeking an HR Senior Associate to join our team in Mogadishu. Working under the technical guidance of IPAS HR and the direct supervision of the HR Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering reliable support and guidance to teams and partners.
Since 1995, UNOPS SOCO has been a trusted partner to the Government of Somalia, managing high-impact projects in health, security, and infrastructure. As an HR Senior Associate, you will ensure the timely processing and monitoring of HR transactions in accordance with UN rules, supporting optimal talent management in a complex, multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy & Advice: Provide day-to-day guidance on recruitment, performance management, and benefits. Communicate HR policy updates to management and personnel.
Talent Acquisition: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from creating requisitions and longlisting to conducting interviews, reference checks, and onboarding.
Contract Administration: Prepare and calculate fees for ICA personnel and manage contractual actions such as appointments, extensions, and separations.
Data Management: Maintain accurate personnel files and tracking systems in the ERP system. Conduct payroll verification and workforce trend analysis.
Diversity & Inclusion: Support institutional efforts by advising on equity, compliance, and inclusive practices.
Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate HR training sessions and contribute to global HR Communities of Practice.
